UK gaming fan sentenced for carrying replica of'The Legend of Zelda 'master sword
In the "The Legend of Zelda" series of games, the legendary master sword held by the protagonist Link is not only his most iconic weapon, but also a symbol of courage, wisdom and strength. However, in real life, this sacred weapon also poses a legal risk to the owner.
Anthony Bray, a 48-year-old man from Newnerton, England, was arrested by the police for carrying a 6-inch replica of the Master Sword in public and was eventually sentenced to four months in prison.
Mr. Bray, who was spotted openly carrying the replica Master Sword by surveillance cameras in the city center on June 8, was arrested and charged for violating a law banning sharp weapons, despite claiming it was just a "toy" he had bought online.
In a subsequent trial, the judge found that Mr. Bray's actions constituted a crime and sentenced him to four months in prison, in addition to a 154-pound fine.
In response, law enforcement authorities in the area said they have a zero tolerance policy for carrying knives of any kind in public. Even as collectibles or toys, it is illegal to carry replicas of weapons up to 6 inches long, and Bray's actions are completely in violation of relevant laws.
This case once again warns the majority of gamers that they must also be cautious about virtual weapons in the game in real life. I hope that through the warning of this incident, more people can pay attention and self-awareness, and avoid similar accidents.
